Abstract:
Collapsible elements are opened and take working position in space by means of special drives. The check of the drives upon operation was performed by special removing weight devices simulating weightlessness. But in that case mechanisms of the deployment of the collapsible elements were subjected to loads exceeding nominal ones. This generated a need for producing high-powerer and heavier drives. The creation of the bulky seven-ton vehicle «Ocean» having the complex trimeric multipanel configuration of solar batteries caused producing a radically new removing weight system. This system has bearers with aerostatic modules creating an «air cushion» between a module and the area of bearing. The creation of such a system enables designers of electric drives to consider problems on the decrease of their power and accordingly on the decrease of the weight both of drives and of a space vehicle.
