Abstract: 
The salts of alkaline metals which are chemically passive to the air atmosphere, for example, carbonates, are proposed to be used as working bodies. The temperature of the decomposition of carbonates does not exceed the emission temperature of the cathode, which provides the stable charge of an alkaline metal.
