Abstract:
A new algorithm is proposed for determining the characteristic energy distribution functions, decay probabilities, decay intensities and lifetimes of excited states. A quantum-mechanical justification is given for the need to revise the temporal characteristics of the chronometer cores. Calculations were carried out for specific cases of the decay of excited 238U, 232Th, 235U nuclei at room and at stellar temperatures with and without consideration of the Doppler effect.
