Abstract: The equations of ballooning perturbations were derived for the dipole configuration of the Earth's magnetic field with regard to the pressure of hot trapped particles. We found that hot particles affect the stability limit of the ballooning oscillations, and under certain condition they can stabilize or destabilize plasma perturbations.
