Abstract:
Thirty years ago, in May 1977, the Decision on the elaboration and creation of the state space system for remote sensing of the Earth «Resurs» and its space subsystem «Ocean» was adopted in the USSR. We consider the main stages of creating the oceano-graphic subsystem «Ocean» and the contribution of Ukraine to this project. Oceanographic satellites and some peculiarities of their informational and measuring complexes are discussed. The possibilities of SLR first launched aboard the satellite «Kosmos-1500» and then mounted on the Ukrainian satellites of the «Sich» type are analysed. Some results of the work performed and the main directions for the further development of the investigations in the field of satellite oceanology are considered.
Keywords: space oceanology, subsystem «Ocean», system «Resurs»
