Design aspects of ensuring of a launch vehicle operation

Abstract: 
The safety of a launch vehicle and implementation of the increased requirements for its assurance — is an actual problem, and its viable solution can give a competitive advantage in the launch services market. The paper discusses the deterministic and probabilistic approaches, which are widely used to ensure the safety of technical systems and industrial facilities. We consider the possibility of creating an integrated approach that combines advantages of the both. As an example, we discuss its application on the safety analysis of the simplified pressurization system of the launch vehicle’s propellant tank.It is confirmed that the proposed approach can be applied to ensure the safety of rocket and space hardware.
