Abstract: 

We describe a prototype of the cooler-type Split-Stirling. The cooler is designed, manufactured and tested by the Centre “Cryocosmos”, together with two Ukrainian organizations, namely, State-owned enterprise of a specialized instrumentation “Arsenal” and Design Bureau “Yuzhnoye”. The cryocooler parameters are given which show that the cryocooler characteristics depend on the resonance characteristics of the compressor and cooler, on the ratio of void volumes for the machine, on the gas pressure and operation frequency of the machine, and on the parameters and shape of supply voltage (current). The machine parameters are also dependent upon the heat load and cooling temperature of the object. Some features of the system training to operation are considered. The study of the prototype enables one to determine the best way for its further improvement. The research results can give consumers and developers of such coolers a clearer insight into the processes taking place in the cooler
