Abstract:

We analyzed changes of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) value on the basis of satellite images MODIS (28.0509.07.2011) for the production crops of sunflower with different sowing time in the Mykolaiv region for the harvest in 2011. It was found that for the time interval under study the sunflower fields sown in April accumulated more than twice greater value of the NDVI sum as compared with the fields sown in early June. It was revealed for the first time with the use of satellite data that most of sunflower fields within the central part of the Mykolaiv region were planted in May for the harvest in 2011.
