Abstract:
The onboard electron beam accelerator with a capacitance storage used in the high altitude rocket experiment G60S is described in detail. The accelerator operation modes during normal injections and malfunctions are analyzed. Some quantitative evaluations of the operation modes are made. Among the malfunctions, individual high voltage breakdowns, a gas discharge in the anode-cathode interval of the electron gun, as well as the return ion stream were observed.
Keywords: capacitance storage, experiment G60S, onboard electron beam accelerator
