Abstract:
Some design problems in ferrofluid hermetic-vibration protection adapted to surface defects in moving large-sized cylindrical constructions are considered. The results of the experimental investigation of protection fragments are presented. The relations between the damped oscillation logarithmic decrement and ferrofluid volume in the devices are obtained. The tightness and seal working period as functions of fetrofluid entrainment are investigated. The results show that the hermetic-vibration protection, which requires no energy consumption, is an advantageous solution for large constructions.
Keywords: ferrofluid hermetic-vibration protection device, large-sized constructions
